The Starrett Story

A New Chapter of
Purpose & Community

An important aspect of the new ownership is the Mission the owners represent.

Bayside Housing & Services embarked on a new chapter with the acquisition of the historic Starrett House. With the goal to convert this charming Victorian bed and breakfast into secure, affordable housing for working women – fostering stability and empowerment within our community.

The walls of this 1889 Historic Victorian Mansion hold many secrets and stories from its 130+ years.

Among the most captivating are those shared by previous owners and the guests, about the home's unseen protectors.

As a Tribute to Love,
This Story began in

1889

The Starrett House was constructed by George Starrett as a gift for his wife Ann VannBokklen.

Built as a tribute to his beloved Ann, George Starrett crafted every detail of the house as a lasting expression of love and devotion.

Together they lived in the home with their only son Edwin and his nanny for more than twenty years.
